Pinkflamingos6 ROTJ Build

Hmm I didn't know that. Makes sense, I just figured the 501st would be the easiest/most troops available to go on. I'll have to look into it!
Don’t get me wrong, with the 501st it will make it easier to find troops and with larger numbers. I just didn’t want you to think that is the only way you are “allowed” to go on troops. I have my opinions and that’s all it is. Feel free to PM me if you need to know more.

Little helmet update...
Got most of the major areas taken care of. Now I just gotta do the small details. Think it's easier to focus on one area at a time and completely finish it then move on to the next.

Big thanks to everybody's help and inspiration so far! I'm really hoping to put the pedal down and hopefully have everything at a "presentable stage" by May 4th...

Little update...
Got one shin tool completed. I didn't really finish the bottom since it will be tucked in the pocket. Big thanks to Shortfuse for the decals and stencils!

Got some of the jetpack greeblies painted and weathered up. Big thanks to IronGladiator for all his help with the lower pieces!

And finally I ended up painting the jetpack hooks and clips blue. Don't know how film Era appropriate it is but I like the way they look in the MoM exhibit photos.

Really gonna put the pedal down this weekend and hopefully finish painting my bucket. Then move on to the jetpack.

Thanks for viewing!

Looks great. Glad those decals/stencils worked out for you.

I was gonna say, that's where I based mine off of too. I ended up painting mine a black color as well. And naturally, it doesn't say in the CRL what color it exactly is. But you are correct, in that the CRL photo it does indeed look black. Perhaps tennantlim can shed some light.

Honestly, it looks dark blue to me. Darker than the pack for sure

Indeed a very dark blue. I used such a dark blue for my upper cheeks on my helmet, which I wasn't all that happy with but I went with it. That color was: Tamiya XF-17 Sea Blue

When I sprayed it on, it looked damn near black. Maybe we use this instead?

PinkFlamingos6 - Again, I loved the way your upper cheeks turned out and so, I grabbed me a couple bottles of the Vallejo - Model Air - 71.091 - Signal Blue today!

Thank you for all the help! I'm gonna repaint it a "sea blue" when I get back to doing my pack.

Also, is the bottom portion of the stabilizer painted the same blue as the pack,or left bare metal? I've seen both done and I'm not sure which is correct for the "hero" pack.

Thanks!

And got one of the back panels finished up.

I'm thinking the key slot area is a little too light of a gray now. I'm probably going to go over with a light misting to darken it up when I go to mist certain areas again.

I'm happy to say I think I'm done painting this bucket. Just waiting for some dullcote to arrive in the mail to seal everything in.

I also tried a little experiment for the ears. I like how they look, just not sure on how accurate I can get them. How do you guys do your ears?
