Made a ton of progress this week. Finished the entire bottom portion of the helmet. Ordering some Testors clear coat spray that I'll put on prior to moving onto the dome. I found that my painters tape was taking off the silver. It was strange as that was the only color that was impacted by the tape. The silver is the only model masters paint I'm using which maybe has something to do with it. But lesson learned I guess. I'm assuming the clear coat will keep that from happening to the parts that I have finished.....
More progress over Christmas break. The top of the dome is pretty much complete. I still need to add the white and weathered panzer olive near the kill stripes and clean up the kill stripes overall and then clear coat everything. Looking at the pictures looks like I still have some wax to clean off from the transfer paper as well. It's starting to look like a real Fett bucket!
Finished the inside of the bucket. Added some fans, installed the visor, and added padding. It took quite a few iterations of pad placement to get it to sit so I could see well out of the visor and still be comfortable. I know most people don't put fans in but I love them in my TK bucket so thought I'd give them a try here as well. They are a bit loud where they are placed. I'll remove them if they bother me with the noise due to placement, or if I simply stay cool enough without fogging due to the entirely open bottom of this bucket. Will post finished bucket pictures later.
Final bucket pictures below. It will be a while before my next post as I currently don't have any of the other parts to start working on. I need to figure out which parts I want to go after next. Will probably go for the gauntlets and body armor pieces. Any recommendations on the best vendors to check out would be very much appreciated.
