*SPOILERS* The Book of Boba Fett Discussion

I've scoured the web reading reviews. The ratio of negative reviews to positive is severely lop sided. That speaks volumes. I hope that the writers see our comments and take it as valuable feedback then hopefully use it to improve the show.
I would like to think they use sources like TDH for super fan feedback.

They honestly should have brought in a panel of people from here or Boba Fett fan club to get actual insight into the character - what inspired the creation of Boba - and why fans were so intrigued with him to begin with to make a truly great and amazing show.

In my personal opinion, they should have doubled down on the western vibe that started with The Mandalorian but went even heavier into those themes with a Star Wars twist. Mythos style Boba Fett but live action! This series should harken back to Clint Eastwood vibes at every turn - lone wanderer, lone gunslinger specially after his disappearance from the galaxy for years. It would have worked perfect with their use of him being taken captive by indigenous natives and he could have learned even more survival techniques or combat techniques to utilize in his bounty hunter/mercenary work. We could have had even more awesome Star Wars gunslinging - picture the movie Tombstone but with Boba Fett and blasters. It could be amazing but instead he have a mob boss? Tell me how that makes sense....

Holding out hope it gets better and implements more of those elements - I guess we will find out tomorrow!?

Well they certainly spoke to those little western hints and vibes in "Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett" on Disney Plus. So I woulda thought they woulda carried it over a little. But yer right, why not stick more to that kind of thing?

Just finished watching it....
Episode 2 didn't suck as much as Episode 1 did, to me anyways.... for the first 14 minutes at least. What really bugged me is that out of 48 minutes of the episode.... only 14 minutes was spent with 'current' Fett, being Boba and trying to stake his claim in the modern world. 34 out of 48 minutes was spent back with the GD sand people. When did Boba Fett, a galactically feared bounty hunter, who could give lip to darth vader, thrive in the criminal underworld of the galaxy without batting an eye.... suddenly turn into "the bounty hunter with'a heart of gold' that isn't going to ditch the natives asap, to get back to civilization, and track down the band of people who just killed his employer, threw him into the sarlaac pit and as far as he knows... killed all of his local bounty hunter "friends", so to speak... to do what he does best, which is... HUNT THEM DOWN.

Instead, he decides that a train that shoots tuskans needs to be stopped, treks across the desert on foot, to beat up a speeder bike gang and steal their speeder bikes... so he can take the speeders back to the tuskans... then take the time to teach the tuskans how to ride speeder bikes so that they can board a speeding train like an old west train robbery scene. Then... go on a 'drug induced' (lizard) spirit quest, to find wood to make his own freakin gaffe stick. Then spend the last bit of the episode dancing around a fire doing "staff kata" with a bunch of tuskans.

And.... while we're in the modern times... keep the danged helmet on longer!! lol.

Something's going to happen? Pop the helmet on real quick, sweet, he looks intimidating and cool! The microsecond that danger is done... pop that helmet off immediately so you don't look cool/intimidating anymore! Apparently that's the new formula.

*sighs*
//rant over.

Dear God I can't wait for them to leave this bleepin' tuskan raider story line behind. Jeez.

It was better than the first offering. The Wookie was very cool, and so was the train driving droid, very Star Wars.

The lizard and Dancing - please enough of this sort of garbage now!

Most of all, if any of the production team are taking note, leave the bloody Helmet on, this is ruining the series. Tam is just, and only just pulling this off, but the helmet MUST stay on, this is for a number of reasons, but more importantly, I don’t think he looks the part, and secondly, it’s one of the most iconic helmets ever, it defines the character.

It’s like Top Gears Stig doing the same thing. It would not work.

*sigh*
This might have been a good story for another new character/show.

…but not Boba Fett.
They kind of blew their Boba Fett returns story on the Mandalorian. It feels like they're trying to contrive a go forward story for Fett as a crime lord. The isolated, mysterious bounty hunter that became Din D'Jarin could've been a surviving Fett. Oh well, I'll continue to watch a take whatever goodness can be gleaned from it.

Good holy what is this second episode? They trying to teach up Tusken along with Jangoba? (see that, thats the Jango/Boba hybrid) or BoJango? Who knows, its not Boba at all. I like some of the world and characters in the background, but Im watching more now to see if I can tell what is the Unreal LED stage volume and whats real set than I am interested in this frail shadow of Boba.

At the 7 minute mark Boba says to the mayor he is NOT a Bounty Hunter.....that says it all for those creative forces behind this character killing series!! They just dont care nor are they interested!
I agree...the New Wookie was the best part of this episode by far!

OT Boba would’ve killed all of the Tuskens and made his own way back to civilisation before setting out to track down Han. Not this Stockholm syndrome vision quest nonsense. The present day stuff is more interesting, despite Boba having zero motivation for setting up a crime syndicate. Establishing a new bounty Hunter guild makes more sense. I liked the twin hutts, even though the CG was janky and the new wookie was terrifying - let’s hope he gets put to good use. Enough of the Tusken stuff now, just…enough. Oh yeah - LEAVE. THE. HELMET. ON.

Yeah… the wookie gladiator looked freakin cool.
Loved how what… 20 humans were shouldering 2 full grown Hutts on a palanquin? Don’t go saying there were repulsers on the bottom of the platform, or it wouldn’t be massively bowing like that lol :p

The Wookiee is a bounty hunter called Black Krrsantan. Now that he’s showing up almost straight off the page design wise, odds are he’ll be in the Kenobi series too. The scar on his left eye was from Obi Wan.

I’m honestly wondering why I give Disney/Lucasfilm the benefit of the doubt. They seem intent on destroying OT characters; especially fan favourite characters.

What the hell was the whole magic tree fever dream about? So our Boba died in the pit? Huh? Talk about bait and switch.

What surprises me the most is the denial that some people seem to have about this series. They think this is peak Star Wars.

My hopes are in the gutter for the remainder of this series, and for Kenobi too.

I have a prediction, but I warn you - if it turns out to be true, it’s RUBBISH.

The female Tusken is Fennick Shand.

The timescales don’t really add up for me but I can see Disney not letting a pesky thing like logic get in the way.

I can see her de-masking at some point, she tells Boba it was her decision to save him/take him prisoner and save his life. Boba telling her she could make money with her skills and help the rest of the tribe out. She goes off to be some sort of mercenary, Boba finds her dead/dying and has a reason to save her.

Like I say, it’ll be rubbish if this turns out to happen but I can see it a mile off.

Its been very positive on some other forums, however, It’s no doubt todays society that dictates what can or cannot be on screen these days, no doubt everything is shown to a panel and gauged if it’s PC and inoffensive, I can imagine “that would be amazing but defiantly not” being said quite a bit.

Don’t think we can have a baddass Boba, going round killing everything for money, or for simply saying he has ate all the pies. We now have to show poor behaviour or bullying going on just before good guy Boba walks in to discipline them to justify stealing the bikes.

All this reborn Boba stuff, but then if you look at the Star Wars route cause, you will find it’s all about one messed up family that’s the problem?

Best enjoy it for what it is, as it is what it is.

I think it will be a bit of a fight scene / stand off, Hutts and Fetts, where the Tuscans all turn up to help, leaving Boba to dance with the wookie!
