MinuteFett ESB Paintup Thread

After failing miserably trying to use enamel paint with my airbrush I switched to acrylics and I have to say it is now a pleasure to paint and no longer feel like pulling my hair out haha.

Recently injured my knee and was looking for an outlet to spend time on so why not paint?

Yesterday I started painting this ToEleven bucket and have gotten a lot of work done these past few days.

I'd like to thank ToEleven and Alex(Raizo) for their paint-up lists that I found in previous threads.

Forgot to take a pic of the raw cast but yesterday I painted the Dome/cheeks and lay down concrete on the back panels. All this was followed by topically adding the silver.

This morning I got the caboose on the mandibles and later painted the upper cheek black.

Now I'm at this stage. More progress pics to follow in the coming days.

Green looks weird based on the lighting so here's a pic of the helmet in other lighting scenarios.

Update : got a lot done today, all that’s left is the ears, killstripes and weathering. Should be done tomorrow!

Topical application is very time consuming but I’m getting better at it. Superjedi must have magic fingers!

Criticism or tips are appreciated!

P.s.
Would anyone like to purchase? Lol

I believe the helmet is now 99% complete.

Today I finished up the mandibles, weathering and attached the ears/visor/rangefinder.
Killstripes were a bit difficult trying to find the right color and blending it.
Got a lot done in 3 days hehe.

I may have missed some stuff but I'm pretty happy with it. If you have any comments/advice/or notice anything I missed feel free to let me know!

Now off to post this bad boy to the cargo hold!

Looks good! Topical definitely takes time getting used to, but you can be way more precise than if you did it layered.

Definitely! I first started doing topical with acrylic and it was a PAIN. Enamel is so much easier to work with!

Heres a comparison of ToElevens(left) and the FettPrides FPH2(right). I think the FPH2 looks more mean as the mandibles are a bit darker and more heavily weather. But the ToEleven bucket is a bit more accurate in color.

The outcome looks really good, I'm jealous of the future owner :D Your topical work is also getting better from helmet to helmet, I bet your next helmet will look even better.
