White portion of decal on RF ear, killstripes, topical damage, pigment weathering, and visor application are all that's left on this sucker! (Although I still need a servo kit and a light setup for the RF.)
Does anyone know of a good thread that covers the weathering portion that they can link me to? Thanks!
Killstripes done. I love using all the techniques everyone has passed down through their threads.
Truly a great community, can't stress that enough.
Going to demask and buff them out keeping with the "thicker paint/newer kill stripe" feel.
I've been having so much fun painting up this Fett and it's been so long that I've been working on it that it's become a hobby in itself. I felt like I wanted my own idealized version of the SE Fett without too many of the handling mishaps that cluttered the paint job, but thinking about it for awhile... I'm starting to catch that Fett fever so many of you guys have when it comes to making it screen accurate to the millimeter.
Just because I've been having so much fun and it's something I've already put so much into... I might just keep working on this build for a few years tweaking it and making it more accurate. Who knows, I might even strip this thing down one day in the future when RafalFett comes out with some sort of magic to make our Fetts even better. Haha but yea, I think I'm ready to tell myself that a Boba Fett costume is never truly finished. xD
Skipped taking a lot of photos but the topical damage, scratches, and pigments have been applied. She looks about done to me. What do you guys think? It's my first time but I think I got it pretty close to the mark.
Thank you! So much work goes into these helmets I know now why people charge what they do for commissions.
Oh I know how that feels... if not I would have had this helmet done awhile ago. lol
And the first official suit up was done! The jet pack harness will have to be redesigned or replaced with a screen accurate version to properly mount it since the BM one came with complications. Lots of adjustments needed but definitely came out looking pretty good imo.
Hey everyone, just a heads up because my wonderful genius girlfriend came up with a method of attaching the chest lights to the plate in a nice clean way using elastic. I haven't seen anyone else use this method so I thought I'd put it out there. If someone already posted something about this kind of elastic attachment method then I just didn't see it. Anywho, it works perfectly so I hope it helps someone out.
Currently attaching hard hat liner to helmet and making final adjustments to jet pack harness.
