Finished the lower half of the RF ear while I wait for the other half to arrive.

Question: does anyone know how to properly adjust and wear the Bobamaker harness/jet pack? It seems to just ride up my chest and the pack hangs off no matter which way I adjust it...

Had a productive Sunday afternoon...
Knees and armor are also ready and wearable. Full dress photos as soon as I figure out the jet pack harness... Still can't make sense of it.

First coat of silver down...

My god... The masking for the silver on the back panels is finished. I cannot stress enough that this is probably the least enthralling part of the paint-up. Blasting the ESB soundtrack and a tall beer made it a bit more bearable lol

Oh yeah, and I'm getting this "new" thing where the paint won't cure around the edges of certain masked areas... Also minor shrinkage of the masking. The masking was dry and cured for at least a day prior so idk why this would happen now. The grey 79 was a bit gunky and I mixed it really well with thinner, but hopefully it cures overnight and stops being fussy... I wanna finish this already.

A few pictures of the armor assembly...
I'm having issues with my kidney/cod armor fitting me. Should the armor rest snugly on my waist? Right now it pushes out and does not fit me. Would Velcro or other methods be effective? Or should I just drill more holes through it and fit it closer in?

Okay, I seriously need some help getting this thing together.
today was my first attempt at a dress up and boy is it a mess... Not exactly sure why the measurements on my legs were so off, very disappointed with that outcome. The arms are a bit off too imo, not sure. The cod and kidney armor won't fit my tiny waist no matter how close together I place them, the **** screws for everything are too short! Seriously BM?! Why? It doesn't fit the cape, it doesn't fit the waist pieces, why the hell even bother?
Anyway, I didn't even bother attaching the lowers in the pictures because of how poorly it all fit. The cod/kidney pieces are the worst... They flare out and I can't attach them together because the screws are too short... Also, anyone who vouches for Alclad paints being resilient without a clear coat should see my studs. The stuff rubs off too easily. Overall fairly disappointed with the measurements and lack of proper screws and spacing on the armor. Lots of work ahead.
Any advice in collar/back armor application? Velcro? Magnets?

I'm pulling my pants up too to see how ridiculous the legs are...

Man, I can see how you're frustrated. Hate to chime in with negativity, but I think it's more like agreement...
It does appear that the armor is just too large for you, thus causing spacing and fit issues.
On the suit, wow, that doesn't look like it was made for YOU. I know you can get alterations, there is a lot of work needed there.
Seriously though, we all face setbacks and get frustrated if not fully fed up. Don't fret man, come up with a plan, and move forward.

I agree that the armor does look rather large on you.
I think I see what's going on with your cod and kidney. The kidney plate is shaped wrong, it's flat all the way across the back then all of a sudden curves close to the ends towards the cod (if that makes sense). NOBODY'S body is shaped like that. When you connect those two pieces, they should form a circle when viewed from above. That being said, no matter how much you try drilling more holes, it's never going to fit you correctly.
Your jumpsuit is definitely too large for you, but you can most certainly get that taken in where needed...the issue is, you shouldn't HAVE to if it was custom ordered. I understand your frustration.
Your collar looks really wide and extends all the way to the extreme ends of the top of your flak vest. That is definitely too big for you. May I ask what your height and weight is?
As for the screws, find some more screws that fit the collar/cod studs and cut them down to be longer to what you need (ideally you'll want to try and find them in the length you need).
Can you be more specific on what you're asking about the collar/backplate?

I attached the collar the same way I did the rest of the chest - with chicago screws. They backplate should hang freely when attached to the collar.

I agree with Will that your kidney should be shaped with more of a curve.

I wouldn't get your flightsuit altered just yet. My suit was a bit baggy in the legs when I first got it from Arkady, but when I added the cod/kidney and knee armor, I was able to adjust. You want a little bit of bagginess - it doesn't need to look like skinny jeans :) Get your armor fitted properly, then see if you need to make adjustments to the suit.

It's definitely frustrating when you pay for something that should be custom and it doesn't come out perfect. You have the option of emailing BM to see what he can do for you. Otherwise, you may end up making the mods yourself.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I think I'll Chicago screw the collar plate on.
Currently packing up the jumpsuit to go back to BM for complimentary adjustments.
The guy is pro to say the least. :)

Finished the grey masking...
Gonna have to go find MM concrete tomorrow.

Alclad should be cleared....and MAYBE resprayed with the chrome on top if youre into more shine at that point. The real pieces aren't metal...so I mean silver paint is what was used...so regular silver would even work.
