I finished up the right side of the band, and now I can start working on the front.

Hmm... steel nerves you say? I'll look into having some surgery.

The weekend is almost over, so here's where things stand as of this afternoon. I started on the brow area at the left corner of the visor, then continued working on the left half.



It's looking more and more like ESB now.

I got the bottom half of the left mandible detailed. I'll keep working toward the top.

Ah... a freshly painted mandible.



Before starting the right mandible, I did a few of the smaller details. First, the white thumbprints.



I also added the fade under the killstripes.



Finally, here's the dark stain above the RF ear arch.

I got into the right mandible today. These pics show how the detail progresses when painting topically. On this section, I start with the silver, then go back and do the gray, then make a 3rd pass to add the purple/maroon and base red details.
I threw in a collage, too.

I was away for a few days traveling for work, but i'm back to working on the helmet.
The right mandible is all done now!



I'll work on details and the ears next. It's getting close!

I added the pale gray this afternoon. There's a good amount on the right rear panel, but there's some scattered around other parts of the helmet, too.

Doing ear work today. Here are a couple of shots of both left ears. What's that? There's only one left ear? Well that's what most people think. But it's a little known fact that there were definitely 2 left ears on the screen used helmet.
Ok... that's totally not true at all.
But i'm working on the second ear for a SECRET PROJECT! So I decided to work on them both together.



All that's left now is the bottom facet.
