New Hunter
Hi, this is my first post here, figured I'd give it a go. I'm ordering my first bu'cye and plan to tweak it abit (season 4/5 Pre Visla premade helmet, but plan to replace the right com/earpiece thing with an RF) and in planning my new starter helmet, I came up with a few ideas. I was wondering how much other mando'ade have integrated electronics into their own buckets so I could find out if my thoughts were viable.
I'd like to gut either a Bluetooth or wired headset so I can connect my phone and take calls while wearing my bucket, which I feel is pretty mellow and doable, but it's my second thought that I wanted feedback on; RF and/or back facing cameras.
My thought was to rip apart a cheapish phone with dual cameras and mount one on the top of the RF so I could get a zoomed view, and the second to the backside of the RF so that when it's up, I have vision behind me, like the cannon helmets are capable of. I then thought it would be difficult to switch between RF and back cameras, so I thought what if I use two separate cameras, one on the RF and one in the center back of the helmet. I planned to mount the screens about where the cheek would be, just below the main part of the T visor, so that I could be able to see the cameras in my periphery, but I'm not sure how much room is in a normal bucket or if it would have to be abit larger overall to provide enough space for my eyes to be able to see something at that angle.
I also had the thought to make a life-size R4 that could be controlled with a gutted RC car, heavy-duty enough to give it some speed. The thought was I could install the joystick/controller guts in my gauntlet to pilot it around. I also considered a possible app-run RC car, if I could find one heavy-duty enough for it.
I'd really like to hear what other builders have tried and if it's actually worth looking into. I only plan to get my bucket painted and padded for right now, but I'd love to be able to have a sweet, high tech bu'cye for myself.
