*Official* "Please introduce yourself" thread

Wow.
i never got around to posting on this thread until now.
strange.
Anyway, I'm 39 and my name's nathan .
I've been married to the gorgeous Michelle since 87 & she's the center of my world.
I have three "kids" Jason -20,Chris -19,& Ashley -14.
None of the above share my Star Wars geekness. That's not a bad thing either

I'm a big mouth, know-it-all jerk. I say what is right (and wrong) and won't hesitate to stand up for myself & others.
some people feel this is a flaw, however it's who i am.
My friends know it & love it, my enemies know it & hate it.
What you see is what you get,no facade to be politically correct or make people feel all warm & fuzzy inside.
I'd rather tell the truth & be rejected, than lie & be accepted.
here's afew pics of me & my Boba and of course mrs.slave1pilot (who will be joining us soon in her Custom Mando)

Hey everyone!

My name is Carson Case. I'll be 18 in 9 days! Gonna be goin' to Vegas for my B-day, & gonna get my first "legal" tattoo, lol. I joined TDH in Feb. of last year, and I've hung out here almost every day since then! I've lived here in Virginia for about 11 years. I've been working in a computer repair shop for about 5 years or so, and soon will be going to college for a masters in Computer Graphics.:)

All of my free time is usually made up of working on some SW related project(mostly my Fett), playing guitar, computers or skateboarding!

I first saw Star Wars when I was about three, and been in love ever since! I've been interested in prop replicas since I was about 8 or so...it was kinda fun being the only kid in school that knew how to make movie accurate lightsabers, lol.

My other obsessions are with Guitar and a band called SUBLIME! Sublime was my "inspiration" to learn guitar in the first place. Guitar is one of the best skills I have...other than sleeping, lol. I've been playing guitar close to four years now.

And thats pretty much it! It's nice meeting all of you!

-Carson

hey folks, I'm Cam Mitchell. I'm 26, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. I honestly don't remember the first time I actually watched Star Wars as a kid, but it must have been at a very young age, because I don't recall a time in my life that I haven't loved it all.

The thing that made me a fan of Fett had to be how he didn't seem to care what Vader had in mind or what Vader's tyranny could do, he still had the gall to make sure that he was getting his. I always like that about his character, that he seemed to be fearless.

What really opened my eyes to the Mandalorian culture was the Republic Commando books. It was while I was reading those, that I decided I had to get a Mando helmet of my own. The helmet is on hold for a little while, but I'm well into a set of armour right now.

I'm Ali, I'm 25 years old, I live in Nebraska. I've been doing Star Wars costumes for a few years now. After going to CIV and seeing all the awesome armor there, my husband and I and two of our good friends have decided to do custom mandos. Came by here looking for some advice. This is also going to be a bit of a trial for other armor projects down the road.

So, I'm Dan, and I would be the other half that Anyte is referring to. I'm 29, and personally believe that Lucas brought out Star Wars when he did as a prelude to my entering the world :) . I'm a martial arts instructor by trade and have been training for almost 20 years. I've been doing costumes since right after TPM came out. I've done 3 Jedi costumes to date (an Obi-Wan TPM, and then two of my own). In addition to that I have a great Spider-Man costume and have done the Joker as well. Current and future projects include:
Custom Mandalorian
Republic Commando
BSG Viper Pilot
Malcom Reynolds
A new Spidey costume
Snake-Eyes
Storm Shadow

I also have a few friends here from some of the other boards I frequent (Jedibrain, Sarlaccbits, Voltaire, etc.), so what's up gang?

Wow....Cool to see this thread revived.

I.m Nick, 39, Living in the U.K, I remember my Dad taking me to see Star Wars in Leicester Square and "Boom" i was hooked, I can remember they had a real stormtrooper outfit in the window of "Angels"(a film/tv costume store) and i stood for hours looking at it (I remember doing the same to a Lamborghini Countach I saw parked outside a hotel) and promised myself i would have one one day. Married to a very understanding wife with one beautiful son (Huge Star Wars fan...I wonder where he got that from!)...have been to Disney in Florida last two years to see the Star Wars weekends and have been to a party with George Lucas, Anthony Daniels ,Mark Hammill and Ewan Mcgregor .

Hey All. I have been lurking around off and on for a while so I reckon it is time to say hi. For those of you that don't know me from elsewhere I am 36 and have three awesome little hoodlums that do a fine job of keeping me busy. I really got in to the prop and costume thing because of them and the addiction has taken over from there. My current gear is a PT Era Jedi and a ESB Dengar.

Hi. I'm Brenna.
I live in Philly, PA, but I'm originally from southern CT.
I'm going to be 24 this Sept.
I've been into comics and gaming for 6 yrs, and Star Wars for about 12 years, ever since a teacher in my junior high school let us watch New Hope in class.
And I have no idea what to say in intros.

Hey guys!

I'm Jessi, a recent art school grad! I'm a painter but recently I've been doing a lot of sewing and I'm wanting to do a Fett-inspired waist pack!

Hi all, just introducing myself. My name is Mike, I am 37 and from New York. I found out about the Dented Helmet when I saw the booth at C4 and got inspired to put together some thing for myself after seeing all the great work people did there and from looking around here. I have always wanted to make a Star Wars costume and I think Mandalorian is the way to go for me. I'll proabaly have to ask a few questions here and there and for some advice but I'll do my best to keep it to a minimum.

Suc'uy, ni Justin Simon. Call me Ceric, as it's the name I'll be going by once I turn 18 and move out.

I'm 16, I live in Ocala, FL, and I'm going to be a junior next year. (Oh-Nine!) I'm currently starting on my first Mando costume, however, it'll probably be put on hold while I work on my Jedi robes. My girlfriend is going to work on a mando with me, so I'm waiting until she's ready to start to get to the main parts.

I'll have a picture of me up eventually; right now, I'm not exactly photogenic (unshaven for about a month, couple of other issues involving playing guitar and guitar strings snapping across the face...)

Oh yes. I am a lurker of the worst kind. I will lurk and lurk until I have a good idea, I'll post it, and then continue to lurk. So far, a lack of good ideas have kept my posts down.

Hello. Name: Michael. Location: New Brunswick, Canada: Rank: quite often, but I use deodorant whenever possible :facepalm

Aaaaaanyway. I've known about TDH for ages, but never joined because I wasn't really at the building Boba stage yet. I'm currenly working on my scratch-built ANH Vader -

HPIM0703.jpg

- still a bunch more work, but it's coming along.

But, this site is about Fett, so I'll get to the point. I started to sculpt a Boba bucket a while back, but due to circumstances I would rather not go into it was 'lost into the ether'. Long story short; I have to start again. This time I'm gonna do more research into the details before I start the sculpt. Although my lost version was looking pretty cool (if I do say so myself) there is always room for improvement.

There is a lot of great info here on this site. I look forward to scanning through even more.

So, I hope I can start posting pics of my progress sometime soon.

I have been here for along time but never introduced myself.

I am Patrick Kenney, 27 years old, and married to my wonderful wife.

I was lurking around here for a while before I joined in 2002 and built my first costume with the help of MB'd Build your own Boba Fett site. Since then I had to part with it due to money issues, but I am making a two new Fett costumes now, a ROTJ and a ESB version back to back.

I am a drafter (draw blueprints) for a private engineering firm here in Salem Oregon. I grew up in Sacramento Ca, Moved to San Diego to be with my wife, then moved to Oregon for my job.

Oh and once the Fett costumes are done, I am making my wife a Zam Wesell costume

Well, I’m 30 posts and 3 scratchbuilt helmets into TDH, but here’s my official intro….

I’m 43.5 years old, and yes, I’ve seen all 6 SW movies in the theaters when they came out….been a life-time Trekkie (alas, of the only true Trek, the original series;))…

I live in NE Florida with my lovely wife of 18 years (Kathy) and 2 teenage boys who know everything, Drake (16) and Zylen (13)….

I work as a draftsman (“cartographer” sounds better) for a land surveyor during the day (for at least 26 years), and have my own residential house plan business the rest of my time off…working on my teaching degree...

My first love (of hobbies) is WW2 Reenacting and history….I’m usually running around the woods with my favorite toy, my M1A1 Thompson submachine gun (adapted to fire blanks), or restoring my 1943 Ford GPW jeep….

I like anything piratical (hence my handmade costume below), or of the Royal Navy in Nelson’s time….I’ve got a ’62 Ford Falcon 2-door station wagon mild kustom rat-rod that I work on constantly….I collect toys (got an original Mattel Fett 3” action figure from ’77, among other things….)…I collect vintage baseball (deadball era)….collect all kinds of music (LPs and CDs)….models (mainly WW2 armor and planes)…I make art (when I have the time...attached is a sample)...collect UP steam train stuff...hell, I could go on and on…this forum ain’t big enough….here’s some pics that are a couple of years old (before I got my contacts)…

Hi Guys

Well, ive been putting it off and putting it off, but i have no excuses not to do it now, so im turning my attention to the family Fett.

After costuming for the best part of 7 years, im no stranger to the high cost and long wait involved with sourcing down and aquiring items.
Ive been costuming under various guises, most notably Alien, Batman, Jedi and most recently Predator.

Ive also noticed that there is a fairly large contingent of guys from the UK here, which makes a big change from the majority of the costuming boards out there and should make aquiring pieces that much easier.

I dont have much to contribute at the moment but over time as i become more familiar with the guys and the workings of the board im sure i will.

Thanks guys.

Hey,

Name's Heimir Smári Jósefsson (Smári is equalent to Clover and last name's son of Joseph). I'm around 19 years old, live in a small town (population 5700) just outsider the capitol in Iceland. I'm the oldest of my parent's children, and have a sister and a brother. I'm new here, joined this or last month... but had been lurking for months. My SW history, hehe.

I first saw ANH on video at my uncle's house when I was about 4 years old, and fell in love with it immidietly. Then I saw the special edition in cinema in 97 and then TPM/AOTC/ROTS as well.

The first EU book I read was tales of the jedi: the sith war when it came out in '97 (it did here, not sure when in the US), and my all time character of the EU is Mandalore (the indomitable). That book expanded my interests to certain groups, and my top one is the Mandalorians. I was completely stunned when I realized they were becoming bigger and bigger, and a lot more like the Vikings - which I consider myself to be. Other groups I'm more in LOVE with than others in this universe are the Empire and, of course, the Bounty Hunter's Guild.

Of other, more real interests include craftsmanship (wood mostly), studying history & military strategy/tactics, playing card-games and chess.

These boards are excellent, you guys are great! I look forward to see and show off projects in the nearest future.
