to be fair it was fun learning about sewing machines, and there is a lot to learn. I think I will carry on learning with it and add it to the tool box. (y)

Impressive work with that helmet! Very well done!
I also like your approach on the electro staff. Reminds me of my own journey.

Keep up the good work! Looking forward to seeing it all combined :)

Where did you get the pattern for the under shirt and tunic?

The best description of the outer tunic is almost like a karate jacket, this has sleeves that taper outward slightly and also has an overlap at the front. We looked up reference picture for them and based it on that only not so exaggerated...the over lap is important as its key to the over all look and its very easy to and up with just a ''jacket'' that closes at the front, we made this mistake and had to add extra material,

making sleeves is incredibly difficult part if you can get hold of an old karate jacke I would pull it apart and look how its made, or even an old jacket will do preferably one that already fits your partner at least that way you know it will fit.

any other help I can be just ask, I don't claim to know how to make it all 100% but I can tell you what to avoid :lol:thumbsup:

I am using a pattern for a kimono...its pretty much exactly the shape you need with just a little alteration to the sleeve and length. As for the undershirt, you dont actually need to make a whole shirt. Just some long sleeves and a neck seal/ dickie. Thats what i'm doing anyway :) hope that helps Moriartus

Big update

the tousers we had a choice of two leather sets we went with the more matt finish ones so it would take paint better.

we would never be able to match the leather as they are vintage anyway so we cut the lower half off to re sew them on to make the pleats.

the studs are tricky, we need to make them a bit con friendly so went with a slightly lower profile stud with a leather backed fitting plate to keep the tight and standing up

The helmet is all done with a linner and cooling fans

Spats were made with the same suede as the tunic with a padded liner.

Found these end caps from a card tube used to hold documents to go on the sides.

the girth belt was made with multiple layers of different matrial such as chord rope, padding and outer covering..
first I lined up the rope ontop of the material

add the padding over the top

These trouser pleats were hand sewn on, every single hole for the thread was hand punched one at a time as that was the only way we could do it without damaging the sewing machine, my Girlfriend spent quite a lot of time on these and they turned out great...

20160821_193136_zpsplixukvy.jpg

we added some velcro round the bottoms and then velcro to the inside tops of the spats so they fit together and stay in place without looking like three quater length trousers.

Cape, the shape needs a little alteration but it hangs nicely held on with hook and eye.

And here we have our Boushh!, three months in total to get this together, all hand made so that makes it a real labour of love we have lights for the helmet on order and electronics for the detonator, the small leather belt needs a different buckle but thats no problem
