All masked up, ready to go. Hopefuly this all stays stuck on! I'm nearly out of thinner. More on it's way, but should be able to do a couple of the colors before it runs out.
One more layer, and the upper cheeks are done! Not been wirewooled yet, and there is still some masking fluid. Just gotta hope all my masking around painted bits has done it's job..
So close now!! It's so satisfying to remove all of the tape and see all of the major painted pieces together! For the first time, it looks like a Boba helmet! All of my masking tape did it's job too, and no paint came off either.
Ear Pieces 'Done'. Need to brush on the silver parts of the right ear piece, add decals and little bits to both ears, and also add the magnet to the helmet. Had a pretty bad paint bleed on the back right panel in the corner (no pic). Big sandy colored blodge. I wirewooled it a little and then with like half a drop of thinner on a small piece of tissue, I rubbed away at it, and its pretty much gone now anyway, so wasn't really a problem. But it's the first time my masking tape has failed me.
Spent the day adding the finishing touches. Only thing left to do paint wise is a little bit of black along the bottom of the cheeks and the dent. But it's too late for all that now. Took about 4 attempts to do that stupid symbol on the right ear (what does it even mean??)
Need to get a visor ordered now. Shade 5 welding visor, right? Found one on Amazon which is £8. I also don't know whether or not I should black wash it? Should also clear coat it I guess too?
Wow that turned out Great i can not wait until i start on my Helmet don't really know what i'm doing at the moment but this site really is helping me out!
Yeah, I regret some of the decisions I made in the initial construction, as it caused some headaches later on. If I did another scratch build, I would try and make the base helmet and inside as clean as possible, and probably cast it afterwards.

Cheers! Just jump into it and learn as you go. That's what I did. Looking at other threads helped also. For painting, I found YoutTube videos from Blaidon Props really useful.
That's actually really fun i found his set of his videos yesterday researching materials and stuff i need to do and i came across Blaidon props and been watching his Boba fett helmet build since Yesterday but thank you man i'm learning a lot from this great experience so far and still have so much to learn ahead of me.
