Storage/transportation Case for hard parts

Malkavian

Hunter
I've seen some questions pop up time from time regarding transporting and storing the costume so I thought I would share how I store/transport my hard parts.

I bought a 50g tools transport case made from Husky and some acoustic (charcoal foam)

My gear is split into three layers

Great idea, and very well done. You put some time (and thinking) into that.

I have the Stanley 50g bin and I've just been using bubble wrap. I love the idea of the foam though, thanks for sharing.

How do you pack the rest of the gear?

I fit everything (minus the helmet) in a Plano sportsman trunk. It's a nice trunk since it's low profile and many other Garrison members use it so they stack nicely. I'm planning on doing a quick video of the setup.

FWIW, here's my kit: it's in a Husky 37" "Mobile Job Box/Utility Cart" (Husky 37 in. Mobile Job Box Utility Cart Black-209261 - The Home Depot) augmented with some 1" and 2" foam sheets, and holds everything but my flightsuit and boots, which I've been wearing constantly since approval (jk :D but I can drive to events wearing them).

@DeathProof -- you must secretly be the Flash also if you can fit everything in one of those teeny cases the TKs use for their gear, shrinking your costume so it fits in your ring...

I like the idea of the foam a lot. I believe once my cases arrive they have foam in them. It'll be a nice little project.

Just needs a bit of tetris love, that's all. I don't use foam...I use the soft parts themselves to pad all the parts.

That explains it -- never been any good at Tetris® I'm a Defender® guy.

I do use the cape to help pad the blaster stock and gauntlets from banging up the helmet, and I've started turning the flak vest inside out to keep the chest armor pieces covered, but part of the reason I chose this size box is to also fit the Vader dome (it's a bit taller than the Fett helmet) when I troop/transport that costume. Plenty of soft parts with that to pad everything, but not so much with the Fett, especially since I'm keeping out the flightsuit.

I do the same with the soft parts to pad the hard armor parts.

I just like that you can fit Boba all in a big tote, my Jango won't all go in a husky or craftsman tote.......I can get everything but the helmet it there, but I always have to carry something.

DeathProof I pack the soft parts in normal luggage bag, no care there as nothing will break or scratch. helmet is carried by itself in a separate bag
dv8r nice set up, I like how you get everything to fit in one container. Your seems to be deeper than mine to get the jet pack to stand.
