RoboFett

New Hunter
Hello everyone!

After almost two years of using The Dented Helmet beside other SW forums as reference for my own Boba Fett costume i finaly decided to register here and share my creations aswell.

First of all i have to say im totaly blown away what you guys do here, the quality and details that you guys put into your costumes is breathtaking and inspiring, im almost sure i wont come close to the level of perfection of most builds here but i will try my best ;)

Note: This post will be updated in the next time with more detailed informations of what materials, sources and procedures i used to create my costume parts.

Some Pictures of my stuff, more to come soon!

All you see here but the helmet mold was done from scratch, the shin tools are machined from high quality grade aluminium. Still early in the works is my flightsuit, all pouches are made by cotton with the help of my seamstress.

Let me know what ya thing guys, im open for any questions, as already mentioned aboth i will update this thread with post about more detailed informations, how i did the single parts of my costume, inlcuding pictures of corse!

(Sorry for my english its not my native language)

Hey, sorry for the late reply, yes actualy they were some work to do, glad ive got enough spare material to do those at my workshop ;) here some pics and info of how they were done:

WP_20170209_09_41_02_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20170209_10_19_07_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20170209_14_09_44_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20170209_14_54_19_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20170209_15_54_23_Pro_LI.jpg WP_20170209_16_32_00_Pro_LI.jpg
Starting with the "Survival Knife", milled out the grooves and cut it to size, then filed out the blade shape by hand and polished the surface, next i drilled a hole on top of the knifes handle, cut threads in and mounted the top disc that way, i know thats not the most beautiful way of doing this since the original was eighter cut and put on with interference fit and or filet welded alongside the bottom, might still do this however.

The "Sonic Beam Weapon" was maybe the hardest one, started on it by marking out and drilling the holes for the shape, then cutting, milling and filing everything to size, didnt include all pics here or i blast some 50ks lol.
In the end everything was polished again and the two parts were connected by two little pins with interference fit.

Last but not least the "Anti-Security Blade" cut every part i needed to size and milled out the grooves as shown on the second picture, then drilled all nessesary holes for mounting the parts together and connected those partial with hex worm-screws and pins till everything was connected.

They are not entirely done yet of corse, still needs painting and weathering, if someone got a question about the tools, just let me know ;)

Sooo, i would say im 90% done but details, more weathering and small stuff like electrics for chest display, rangefinder leds etc, oh yes shoes are totaly unchanged by now.
Also a note, im not running for a 501st approval, this is a pure fan costume and not as accurate as possible, however what do you think so far?
(i do know the thigh pouches are a bit too high sewed onto the flightsuit aswell the armor color is a bit too blueish and clean but looks similar to the pre pro #1 colors hah)

======= UPDATE =======

Sooo my boots are done, first i did was machining the parts for the spikes from aluminium sheetmetal and rod.
I know they aint screen accurate and i accidently cut the wrong angle on the spikes so they aint straight, but still i think it lookes even more aggressive that way, also i had to adapt the angle to the boots i bought and this might caused the wrong angle.
However the results made me happy because the boots make everything look more complete when wearing everything together.

Beside that i finaly made an interior for my helmet from a old arisoft fast helmet, including a kinstrap and additional padding from a mich 2000.

WP_20171111_11_28_28_Rich_LI copy.jpg

The rangefinder is completley custom made, machined aluminium stalk, the head is bend sheetmetal, already did this some time ago and thought i post some pictures of that too if some might want to try this.

Also the perspecs box was custom made, its three layers glued together and cut to shape.

After some research and getting the parts together from a carnival costume of my parents hah i added red blinking LEDs to my rangefinder.

Still need to find the best methode for the switch cause the current methode how the switch operates is unpractical, was thinking on a contact switch when moving it into down position.

before i forgett, i weatherd the shin tools, not screen accurate but they got the look of used tools now i would say, not so shiny anymore like they used to be.

WP_20171110_16_29_45_Rich_LI copy.jpg WP_20171110_16_30_30_Rich_LI copy.jpg WP_20171110_16_30_50_Rich_LI copy.jpg WP_20171110_16_31_08_Rich_LI copy.jpg

And before the day was over, of corse another dressing up test, getting there but still stuff to do...
I need to find someone who can build a chest light circuit for me atm i only glued a transparent plastic piece underneath the armour with black paper behind it to get that screen look until i have something professional...

The armour, gauntlets and helmet will need a more professional weathering job, imo i didnt catch the right color tone, however i think i will find a way to change that some time any tips would be welcome!

Oh and yes i padded out the pouches and put them onto the right position now ESB style ;) if you guys have any suggestions or ideas you want to share, please let me know!
