Mara Jade WIP

Hi,

starting a Mara Jade for my partner, while we're doing a Fett for me

Jumpsuit is a posh spice version which needs some changes..
Second tan t-shirt €8,-. cut just below the armpits, seamed with opening, cut another half just with a slight angle for the "hood" look and seamed the top together. Openings are lef and right on 2nd pic.

More to come.. (looking for right kneecaps first)..

Hi again, got some nice French paradegloves for €4,- and 2 belts for €20,- to make the one and a half belt for Mara. These belts have an easylock system so I can put a nice buckle on the front without problems. Next post belt work...

Hi again, back to work with the 501st Mara Jade for my partner.

we got 2 more belts (with discount this time, never hesitate to ask).. to finish the belt and harness. Leftover part from one belt made a good piece for an armband too:


Harness: with a piece of MDF I sow into a circle with 3 squares to attach the belts to and then spraypainted that with grey primer and metallic silver (like 10 layers). The buckles up front are from 2 old children's belt buckles which clasp shut in de back. The spraypainting gave me a first practice for when I want to do my own BF armor later on.
used spraypaint: I am not quite sure yet if this is the right color for my armor.
The belt is made out of 2 belts, it is attached in the back for good and in front the hanging part is also attached, the regular (horizontal part) is still adjustable on the front. For buckles they are cut out of sheetmetal and polished smoothed out.

Also got a wig in the meantime and a hairnet. (Wig is pleasure pro Aubrey red, it looks quite orange).

Next: goggles, knee and shincaps.

Thanks, new addition: we made a pouch to slide over to the back of the belt. Not exactly screen accurate (tried to make it look like the blaster holster), but oh so handy for a camera, phone, and other women's things. Color matches the harness and belts. Just need to put some smooth coat over it.

and goggles (Global Vision UV400) Aviator style.

shin/knee guards Decipher card style also came in. Dont know if I should customize them, they're a little big for my girl. But that's the last part anyway. So it's time to suit up for her.

Does anybody have any tips on customizing these knees? they are a little too big on her knees, but I wanted the look of this reference pic, and I think here they are also pretty big, of course if you have to troop in them all day I think they feel a bit heavy
