Custom Mandalorian Help needed, custom helmet

I'm currently making my first ever helmet and ran into a bit of an issue. The two sides of my helmet are uneven. See pic. Side 1 is higher than side 2 and I'm not sure how to remedy this. Should I sand down to high side and risk sanding a hole or add more bondo to side 2 and risk ruining the nice curvature I have? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
