Hi from Adelaide, South Australia.
I'm the dad that goes over the top for book week costumes at my sons school, reception he was a full sized working R2-D2, year 1 he was a G1 Optimus Prime and this year he will be the infamous Boba Fett. Cheers to the forum and web page for all the great resources, already have his helmet and body armour made and have the range finder on a remote switch with an arduino controlling the lights and servo positions.. it's gonna be sweet!
Matt
Here are some pics of the previous years costumes and a link to the youtube clip of the prototype for the helmet range finder motion and lights.

Welcome to the forums. There have been some great small Fetts built over the years. Find the WIP threads and you should get some good information. There are also plenty of guys willing to answer questions as they come up.

Here it is all complete for a bookweek costume dress up at school, check the youtube link for the RF working with the use of an arduino nano and switch near the chin. Thanks to all the boards and posters for the material reference and submitted that helped me in the build. I went for ESB apart from the left gauntlet flame thrower just used ROTJ for ease of build. Lights in the flame thrower and jetpack work. Used an Ipod for the chest display playing a video made in powerpoint and movie maker, can't be seen in the clip but works well. Rgds Matt

That's great stuff. I'm a childminder and Scout leader as well as a Dad myself. Seems like we have similar ideas. I am just working on a bucket for my son and he is enjoying helping even if it does slow down the process. He is only 5yrs old after all. Keep up the good work
