APPROVED UPDATE: DeathJedi's ESB build and WIP

Your flight suit came out really well! Amazing what a rinse will do after the first soak!

Thanks! I was really thinking I might have to give it a bleach rinse, but I think it'll do. I should actually throw it on and have a couple pics taken for some opinions. Tomorrow I should have the right gauntlet just about done. I added the hose, but need to cut still and add the switches.

Whew! Had a couple minutes each day and got more put together. Got the metal switches and placed. Got the hose attached. I need to measure, cut and put the connector on it and in the flight suit. Probably a job if I get a few free minutes this weekend. I think I’m almost done with these bad boys!

No weathering today. Decided to cut and form cardboard and then mark out eyelet holes and attach bolts the armor. After a long time of measuring and checking everything and getting everything dry, one of the chest parts came in to the center too much. Ugghhhh!!! What a pisser! So, busted some bolts off and made (what’s hopefully) proper adjustments. Set to dry over night and I’ll put it back together in the morning, perhaps with an armor attached pic.

Since I’ve had heating people and plumbing people at my house trying to figure out what’s wrong with my heat and not allowing any sleep today, I did some work! Shoulders and neck piece attached!

If you want some advices:
The gauntlet hose is not the right material.
Look here:
Boba Fett Empire Strikes Back Costume - Bespin Hallway
And your darts shouldnt be a that angle, they need to be parallel to the gauntlets surface. And the switch on the inner side must be painted black.

Thank you for the feedback and the link to the picture. I absolutely want advice! So I used the current image from the CRL and it looks to me, like they’re slightly at an upward angle. Maybe I’m seeing it wrong.

Also I’m not sure which switch you mean as to what’s here and what I have. I’m running on less than 2 hours of sleep in the last 48 and probably not getting much more tonight, but I’m having trouble seeing what you mean.

I see that the hose is incorrect. I can get a replacement. This is the best I could find at Home Depot but it looks to be the rubber braided material about the same size is what I actually need. That correct? Do you happen to know what specifically it’s listed under?

Thanks again for the feedback!!!

Happy Fett Friday! Broke out the ol’ airbrush for a little bit of weathering today. I’m letting it dry completely but I need to put it on and see how it turned out.

Did pouches first. Then hit the other parts. The front legs show one side weathered and the other side for comparison.

Here is what I finished today. I am hoping it’s not too much, or too little. Some of what I’ve seen of other guys’ jobs vary from what I’d consider not enough to way too much from time to time. Most look good, though and I want mine to look good too. Thoughts and comments welcome.

Have a great weekend everybody. I got two troops this weekend in my TK. I’m almost sad that I’m getting closer to the point where I probably won’t wear it anymore... because hopefully I’ll be “Boba, the Fett. My backpack’s got jets. [facepalm] Sorry about that, guys.

So I’ve been working on snaps and trying to get things together. Piece by piece and glueing parts together so I have actual in process pics. I tried things on tonight.

Things I know I still need to finish:
Hose connector from gauntlet to flight suit.
Adjust belts and cod piece so you can’t see how fat I really am. This is probably one of the harder parts to fix for me without losing about 25 lbs
Need jet pack adjuster shin tool.
Elastic strap from cod to kidney plate needs to be installed.

I didn’t attach the back plate and jet pack since it’s just an 8 year old who has trouble taking pics with my phone let alone making big adjustments and getting me set up.

I’m waiting for a friend to 3d print the stock greeblies since the guy I bought the blaster from “forgot” them and has since went dark on the DH. I’m not too worried about it, just a pain. My friend is going to print the adjuster tool as well.

So, adjustments and refits hopefully this week. On a side note, I got my heat fixed, trooped twice over the weekend, got one tomorrow and maybe Friday night.

Looks awesome my friend. I love seeing pics of folks fully suited up, knowing it'll probably be the end of next year before I get there! I'm living vicariously through y'all!

Thanks! The positive feedback is good motivation to move forward. Your progress is coming along nicely, too! No need to rush things. My goal is approval by Christmas. I just was lucky to find opportunities to buy things at the right time. Some of my pieces were started but unfinished. Some raw. I was just fortunate all at one time. Good luck my friend and keep us updated!!! Little bits when you can, brother. Eventually you’ll be almost done!!!
