TK/TS/DZ-50175 Boba Fett ESB WIP

Here the short version of how I finished my Stormrider EE3-Kit...

There was one thread here on TDH wich helped me a lot:
http://www.theden...ndex2.html

I put in a spring like in the orginal Webley:

It opens like the original gun:

Put some color on the wood, sanded it and oiled it in the end:

Used some metall-pins to secure the clued on parts:

Making a MPP-Flashtube out of a chromed barrel and secured it with a screw:

And here the mostly finished gun. Only the wire on the front scoperail is missing. And I need to put some of the black on the flashtube away:

Painted the middle section of the shoes with black shoe polish. Then mixed white and grey shoe polish to grey and gave it used look.

I used some water and black acrylic an mixed it. Sprayed it on the shoes and soft parts...

Important: always make the clothes wet before using the blackwash so drips from the spray-bottle disappear...

She must have changed the color since I got mine. Mine is much bluer than that, wondering if I should tone it down.
Everything is looking fantastic so far.
What was your black acrylic and water ratio mix, if you don't mind sharing? I think it looks great.

Thank you!!!
Sorry but I dont know the ratio, I always put some acrylic in it and try it on a test piece. Then I put more water or acrylic in it till I like it. But it had to blackwash it 3 times so its not much acrylic I guess...

The last days I worked on my sidearm and holster - both made from STORMRIDER. Blaster is made from resin and that holster is rubber like the screen used. I love it....

I clued a little piece of rubber inside the holster to prevent the sidearm slipping to deep inside of it....

The barrel of the gun is secured with a screw to the grip so I can paint the parts separate.

I am not a fan of velcro so I used push-buttons to put ammobelt-pouches and hip-pouches together.

I always secure holes in cotton or other fabrics with a little bit of superglue to prevent tearing.

The hip-pouches sitting close under the ammobelt-pouches...like I figured out in reference pics.

Finally here is an update!

My jetpack-harness is ready! With help from my German Garisson member "Kanne" who did the bending of the tube and my moms sewing skills its finally done... Got the drivers-belt and x-shaped-triglid here on TDH and bought the snaps on the chest i a diving-store.

This thread here helped me a lot with the strapping:
http://www.theden...esb-52297/

Take a look:

IMG_1090.jpg

And now the MOW jetpack...

At first I made the holes for the thrusters and cutted two pieces of PVC-tube in length. Then I glued them in the inside of the jetpack and used a bungie-cord to connect them. So they are moveable and easy removable.

IMG_1065.jpg

IMG_1150_1.jpg

The jetpack and the lower section of the rocket will be held together with the well known wing-nut-strategy:

IMG_1056.jpg

The upper section of the rocket will be held in place by magnets (pre-drilled from eBay). They are pretty strong...my fingers were hurt by trying to pull them from each other... :cry

IMG_1101.jpg

IMG_1108.jpg

I used some leftover screws fom the EE3-blaster to make the door in the back functional:

IMG_1067.jpg

IMG_1148.jpg

I glued all the parts to the jetpack body withe epoxy. Before glueing them the piano-keys of the MOW jetpack needed to be sanded down to match reference pics. The best way to do this is to glue some sanding-paper on a flat surface - it gets more straight then using a dremel:

IMG_1107.jpg

Here you can see before and after:

IMG_1106.jpg

I already drilled holes for the jetpack-beacon and the stabilizer and made a velcro-base for the battery-pack wich will be mounted on the inside later...

I cutted some threads in the thruster

IMG_1078.jpg

IMG_1145_1.jpg

Later I will fix the screws for the side parts with epoxy so I can take them off whenever I want and never be afraid the can fall off like only clued parts.

I cutted screws for the front parts in the correct length and will secure them withe epoxy inside the thrusters after finishing the side parts. The goal here ist to easy take them off whenever needed like the side parts - I hope it will work like planned!

And this is how it looks right now:

Finished the strapping for the front and back armor and it fits perfect....
