Superjedi's FPH2 for FandangoFett

Hi everybody!
Well, this didn't take long, lol. I'm beginning another ESB commission for TDH's own FandangoFett.
This is an FPH2 kit by Wasted Fett and it'll be done as screen used ESB.

I started this one a couple of days ago, so let's get caught up on the action. . .
I'll skip the awful, boring, tedious prep (can you tell I hate prep?) and skip right to the good stuff! Paint!
Here, the helmet has been trimmed out and given a coat of primer.

I added some rare earth magnets to the ear cap to make it a breeze to remove when needed.

Here, the first color has been airbrushed onto the rear panels.

The damage was stenciled and masking fluid slathered on.

Then I airbrushed the dark green. Here's a series of shots before and after removing the masking fluid.

Next, I'll tweak the edges of the damage areas with a fine brush, and add the smaller chipping details.

I got the left rear panel finished up. Here's an overall pic.

Here are a couple of closer views from different angles.

The right panel is next!

Yeah, since this thing will always be canted to one side on him and he is currently MIA I think he is loosing this commission to me.

Ha! I think he's trooping tonight if I remember correctly! Eric can you put a weight inside the helmet to counter balance his lid?

Got some work done on the right panel today. This is the "big scrape."
I generally break the right panel into the big scrape. . . and everything else, lol.

I'll work on the rest of the panel tomorrow.

Last update for this weekend. :)
I finished up the rest of the right panel. As I mentioned, doing these areas takes about the same length of time as just the big scrape.

I also had time to lay down the base green on the dome and cheeks. This is a custom blend of a couple of different greens.

The color may look a little odd like this, but once the damage is applied, it won't be so stark.

Plugging away with the dome. . .
I got the cat scratch area done. I include the "swoop" above the cat scratch with this set of stencils as their positions are closely related.

Next was the small area above the turn signals.

Finally for this update, the dent! My favorite.

This weekend I'll work on the big scrape on top of the dome.

Oops. . . I seem to have fallen behind on updates. Let's fix that! :D

First, I finished the big scrape on the top of the dome. Lots of detail here that doesn't get much attention when someone is wearing the helmet.

Next, I set up for the killstripes. Here, the basic masking is complete.

As I've mentioned many times, I use Winsor & Newton masking fluid. It's a great product and it's always worked well for me.
For applying it, I like Microbrushes. They come in a couple of sizes, and these are the smallest size.

After airbrushing the stripes and unmasking, we get this result.

That area of the dome is looking kind of blank, so let's add the damage! Here are a couple shots of the completed left side of the dome.

I then blocked in the dark outer cheeks.

Here's the completed right cheek.

Whew! So now everything is up to speed. The left cheek is in work now.

Thanks. :)
I got the left cheek finished up. I like the damage on this section. It's kind of angular looking.

Next I'll be masking everything off and laying down the red!
