I like your idea with the black greeblies inside the thrusters. It just looks more real...
Is there a photo how those sides of the thrusters looked in the movie?

Pics of me in the full suit will follow. At the moment I´m in progress of loosing pounds to fit it again. I was ill for some months and got bigger, bigger and bigger.
AND I´ll have to finish the jetpack harness. I am hand-stitching all the belts, if this is finished, the test of carrying the jetpack with the harness will be interesting.
I did a little video. so I´ll let it speak for itself! Finished jetpack.

My lovely girlfriend for organizing an original KERR dental file.
Nothing spectacular going on... I am hand-stitching/sewing the car seat belts on the harness. Meanwhile I´m re-working the top of the harness, because it was too bulky and pushing up the back armour. Pics will follow.
Couldn´t find the time to work on the harness. But now I have sewn all the belt ends, I still have to do some minor changes on the harness itself. I did some shaping on the top part. Changed the hardware. Pics will follow.
This is the actual stand.
Hope to finish it this week, so I can put on the jetpack with the harness for the first time.
Finished the harness today. I hand-sew the black seat belts and used some tubular rivets to make them stronger. Also made some aluminium bars to secure the hardfoam plate on the inside.
One big step closer to the finish... I could wear my jetpack for the first time with my self constructed harness.
